If you are interested in joining Generation Jacob, we do have a few requirements:
AGE. We require our members to be 13 or older, and our target age is the teens and twenties age group. We want this generation to have the opportunity to learn responsibility, to make wise decisions, to grow strong in their faith, and to become courageous and Godly leaders. Although we will seek the help and counsel of experienced Christians, Generation Jacob believes in the calling God has given to young believers. Young people are the future of the church, and often we don’t realize the potential we have in Christ; God is not held back by our youth! “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12)
TESTIMONY. If you want to be a member of Generation Jacob, we will ask you to give your testimony of faith during a meeting’s assembly. The reason we ask this is because we believe that if you are not ready to boldly declare your testimony, you will not be ready to participate in our missions. (Note: If you simply want to attend meetings without becoming a member, that is fine. However, only members can join committees and participate in missions.)
CALLING. We want our members to be intentional, serious Christians with a heart to know God deeper, and a desire to do what He is calling us to. We want to be challenged by God to do hard things for His Kingdom. Please do not join if you do not feel His call. We believe that it is unwise to go forward with something that God has not called a person to do.
DRESS CODE. We have a dress code because we are ambassadors for Christ, and as such, we want to be representatives that honor Him in every aspect of our life—including the way we dress. Whether we realize it or not, our dress makes a statement. We do not want our clothing to distract or become a stumbling block to anyone. Generation Jacob belongs to Jesus, and so does all the attention. When you come to a meeting or participate in a mission, please dress honorably and considerately. See yourself as a representative of the King.
