Welcome to the very first faith challenge!
It’s easy to pray for the people you love, but sometimes, when it comes to praying for others that you don’t know so well, or that you don’t really like, it can get hard.
So, we are going to be taking time every day to pray for somebody you don’t usually pray for. It can be the same person every day, or someone different each day. Be intentional in your prayers. Ask the Lord to show you what to pray for this person, even who to pray for. This should be more than just, “Lord, bless my neighbor today. Amen.”
This is an exercise in how to pray for those that are hard to pray for. Pray for your enemies. Pray for the relative you haven’t seen in years. Pray as the Lord leads you.
If you want, you can complete this challenge with a partner so you’ll have accountability. I’m excited for you! This may not seem like that big of a challenge to some, but I believe it will be helpful in our growth. There’s something really neat I’ve discovered about praying for others–especially the ones you don’t really like. When you start praying, like, really praying for them, your heart will be changed. You’ll start to love and see them the way Jesus does.
I know I am posting this challenge about a week late, my apologies. But you don’t have to stop at March 12th! This can become a habit.
Thank you for your interest! May the Lord draw close to you as you seek Him!
